Jovitte is only 19, and she’s already running her own business. Five months ago, she started her women’s salon at the Gatebe Market Hub.  

Before starting her business, Jovitte had learned how to style hair by spending time in a local salon. She chose to open a salon because of her passion for working in the beauty industry.  

Starting a business can be intimidating, but with clean water, electricity, safety, and affordable rent at the Gatebe Market Hub, Jovitte quickly found the support she needed to gain confidence. “Gatebe gave me a good place to grow,” she says. 

Now, she serves at least three clients a day. She started her salon, her profit has gone up by 60%, and she’s been able to buy more tools for her work. Jovitte also plans to join the next Business Leader Development Program to keep learning.
