“I feel prepared and confident in growing my business.”

Obed’s journey began at our Shimwa Paul Market Hub, where he worked as an apprentice under Sylvestre, making shoes. Obed also joined the Business Leader Development Program, where he learned essential skills in budgeting, financial planning, and decision-making.

After graduating, Obed put these skills into practice and started saving. Four months ago, he rented his own space at the market hub to start a restaurant. He chose to start his business at the hub because of the affordable rent, reliable electricity, and consistent water supply.

Since then, his profits have tripled compared to when he first started, and he can now support his family financially. Looking ahead, Obed dreams of expanding into multiple restaurants across his village and creating employment opportunities for others.
