Sam is a tenant at Akayange Market Hub, where he has been running his food business with his wife since the hub first opened.
Before joining Akayange Market Hub, Sam and his wife worked in an open-air market. Every day, they had to carry their goods to the market in the morning and take everything back home in the evening. Their business was limited by many challenges no electricity, bad weather, heavy rain, and damage from strong sunlight. They could only sell during certain hours and often lost products.
Everything changed when they joined Akayange Market Hub. With a secure shop, they can now stock as much food as they want and keep it safely. Access to electricity allows them to sell for longer hours, without worrying about daylight or weather conditions.
To strengthen their business, Sam’s wife joined and graduated from the Business Leader Development Program. She gained important skills that helped them manage their business better and grow with confidence. Inspired by her progress, Sam has decided to join the next cohort so he can also gain business skills and contribute even more to their success.
Today, Sam is proud and happy that his family is financially stable. Their journey shows how access to a safe market space and business training can truly transform lives.
