Coming Soon: A New Market Hub for the Nyenyeri Community! 

Located in one of the most remote corners of Eastern Rwanda, the Nyenyeri community is home to over 4,000 families and a growing network of visionary entrepreneurs.  

Since launching our partnership with Nyenyeri in March 2021 through our Business Leader Development Program, we’ve walked alongside hundreds of local leaders who are now equipped with skills in business, planning, and long-term goal setting. Many of these leaders are part of savings and asset-based community development groups, collaborating on cooperative farming projects.  

In 2021, we also renovated a space to serve as Nyenyeri’s first market hub, home to six businesses including welders, carpenters, restaurant owners, and barbers. This space quickly became a vibrant center of activity and hope. The community has embraced it, and outgrown it. 

Now, it’s time to dream even bigger. 

This fall, we’re breaking ground on a brand-new, self-sustaining, full-scale industrial and agro-processing center that will expand opportunities for Nyenyeri. And we’re inviting you to be a part of it. 

The new hub will multiply the community’s solar-powered and industrial capacity by 10x and include a fully equipped training facility to continue developing catalytic leaders for years to come. 

Upgraded road infrastructure will improve connectivity within the region and pave the way for our Tujyane electric vehicle service, helping local farmers and entrepreneurs get their goods to market faster and more sustainably. 

We will further enhance technological connectivity and digital literacy by installing a Starlink system. As the hub becomes an internet hotspot, the hub operator will maintain a mobile money service, enabling local businesses to accept digital payments and providing entrepreneurs with a secure way to manage their earnings.  

And because Nyenyeri is rich in fertile soil and known for its strong agricultural roots, the hub’s agro-processing features will be a game-changer, especially for community development groups investing in farming projects.
