Working Out Of The :

“It is a dream come true for me to have my own space and to be able to support my community.”

Faith’s journey from farmer to thriving restaurant owner is a testament to the power of determination and opportunity. Before starting her restaurant, Faith raised livestock and cultivated maize, depending on unreliable sales to make a living. Things would soon change for Faith upon her hearing of Kinvest’s Shimwa Paul Marketplace, carrying promises of support for entrepreneurs.

Faith saw our low rental rates for tenants as an opportunity to fulfill her dream of starting a restaurant. Operating a restaurant would allow her to continue vending milk and maize from her farm and expand her customer pool. Because our marketplace offers electricity, Faith can control the restaurant’s hours of operation and store her ingredients in a refrigerator on-site.

Since the opening of her restaurant in 2021, Faith’s business has thrived. Her tenancy at our marketplace has enabled her to sell goods at a higher price compared to her previous role as a farmer. Faith began with one employee and has since expanded to employ three people from the Shimwa Paul community.
