We followed up with Juldas, a tenant at our Shimwa Paul Market Hub. Juldas first joined in 2023 in search of consistent electricity and a stable business environment. In our first interview, Juldas shared how access to reliable power led to a 700% increase in clients. 

Since our last visit to his barber shop, his profits have risen by 40%! On busy days, especially during school season, he serves 30 to 40 clients. To meet demand, he has hired an employee, allowing him to serve more people and contribute to job creation in the community. “Hiring someone means I’m helping more than just myself,” he says. “It’s about growing the community too.” 

Having a fixed, known location at Shimwa Paul has also made a difference. “People know where to find me now,” Juldas shared.
