Straton, a tenant at the Nyenyeri Market Hub, has experienced incredible growth in his carpentry business. What was once a small home-based operation serving just 1-2 clients a week has expanded, thanks to resources like electricity and increased demand. This has allowed him to hire three employees, contributing to local job creation. 

Straton credits much of his success to the skills he gained through our Business Leader Development Program. These skills in saving and investment have helped him and his wife join two active savings groups, further securing their financial future. In addition to his carpentry business, Straton has diversified into agriculture, growing maize and beans, which has provided added income to support his family of eight. 

Straton’s dream is to open a hardware store that complements his carpentry business, creating even more opportunities for his community. Straton’s vision for the future of Nyenyeri is one of thriving businesses, improved infrastructure, and better educational opportunities for the youth.
