Nyenyeri Savings Group Update
Jan 31, 2025
We followed up with the Twitezimbere saving group from Nyenyeri, formed by graduates of our Business Leader Development Program. This group has spent the last two years working together to grow their financial independence through budgeting, saving, and making informed business decisions.
With the help of the DreamSave app, the group tracks their weekly savings and offers loans to members with a 5% interest rate, allowing them to invest in personal projects. Their flexible saving system ensures that each member can contribute according to their capability, promoting financial stability across the board.
One of the members, Jas, shared, “I’ve invested in livestock, buying a pig and 8 chickens. My children’s education is secure, and I’m excited to expand into bigger projects in the future.”
Felix, a retail shop owner, noted how the program has transformed his approach to business. “The skills I gained from the training have helped me manage my shop effectively and grow my business,” he explained.
Another member, Jean de Dieu, has made impressive strides, saying, “I’ve purchased land and built my house. Now, I’m planning to explore more opportunities to expand my investments.”
Now, as they prepare to start a maize cultivation business, their dedication to building a better future for themselves and their community continues to shine.
