Umuganura Day

Aug 4, 2023

We wish you a happy Umuganura Day from Rwanda!

Umuganura, also known as “National Harvest Day” or “Rwanda Thanksgiving Day,” is a significant cultural celebration in Rwanda.

Umuganura Day is a vibrant and meaningful celebration that honors the agricultural heritage of the Rwandan people and promotes a sense of unity, gratitude, and cultural continuity. This celebration is an opportunity for Rwandans to give thanks for the bountiful harvest and express gratitude for the blessings they have received. It serves as an occasion for farmers and agricultural communities to display their produce, showcasing the diversity and abundance of crops grown in the country.

At Kinvest Impact Foundation, we are dedicated to enabling rural farmers. Our support extends to over 300 rural farmers through dairy cooperatives, where we chill dairy products for sale in the market. Since the launch of our transportation service in April 2023, we have successfully transported more than 32 metric tons of produce and livestock in Nyagatare district.

We also want to recognize the recent successful harvest at Kinvest Farms, established through international impact investment funds by @Kinvest Venture Partners. These farms offer local entrepreneurs valuable employment opportunities, enabling them to develop and cultivate farmland for global distribution and creating a sustainable local economy for the community. By selecting high-value crops, we generate ten times more value per hectare than traditional methods. Over the past 18 months, Kinvest Produce has produced over 220 metric tons of chilis.

Take a look at photos from Impano, one of our farms in the Nyagartare District, that recently had a chili harvest!
