New ABCD Group in Akagera
Nov 11, 2024
We are thrilled to see our Business Leader Development Program graduates invest in the growth and development of their local communities!
Maniriho Chalse, a graduate from Akagera, is leading by example as president of a new asset-based community development (ABCD) group. As the sole program graduate in his 10-member group, Chalse is sharing valuable skills in saving strategies, business management, and decision-making that he gained through our program. His leadership has inspired and mobilized others to work toward a collective vision of economic growth and community empowerment.
The group has launched a chicken and pig farming project, starting with 20 chickens and 18 pigs. They are enthusiastic about the financial opportunities this venture offers, with plans to expand and supply pork within their district. This project not only provides a sustainable income for the group but also fuels local economic growth.
Looking ahead, the group envisions a thriving village with better infrastructure to support business growth. They believe our training should reach all rural areas, as these sessions have opened minds to new ways of fostering development and transformation.
We are so proud of Chales and his ABCD group for taking initiative and using their skills to create lasting change.
