Aborozi na Bahinzi ABCD Group
Oct 9, 2024
The newly formed Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) group in Akagera consists of 15 members, all graduates of our Business Leader Development Program. After graduating together in April, they put their newfound business management and savings skills into practice by starting a meaningful project.
Together, they have started cultivating maize and raising goats. Their goal is to contribute to food security within their village with maize flour. Goat milk, valued for its medicinal properties, is also an important aspect of their project.
In addition to farming, the group serves as a savings network, providing financial support to members in need. With this support, all members have been able to cover essential expenses like school fees and health insurance.
Looking ahead, the group aims to expand into cow farming and purchase land for larger maize cultivation. Their dream for the community is to empower others with valuable skills and improve infrastructure to boost local businesses.
Grateful for the training that inspired them, the Akagera ABCD group is committed to building a better future for themselves and their community.
