Ivomo provides reliable and affordable clean water to rural communities in Eastern Rwanda.  

We use solar powered boreholes to pump water from its source to the communities where it’s needed most. In the Karangazi community, we’ve constructed pipelines spanning over 1.5 km to the water access point. Before, residents of the Karangazi community faced an hour-long journey on foot to reach clean water.   

Since August, our monthly water sales in Karangazi have nearly doubled due to positive community feedback about our consistent water supply.   

Providing the community with localized water access improves health and hygiene and alleviates the economic burden on families who pay for limited and costly water alternatives. 

Sustainability is a crucial aspect of our Ivomo project design. Our current sales at Karangazi cover our water operator’s salary and borehole maintenance expenses, making it 100% self-sufficient.
