Working Out Of The :
Joseph is the vice-president for the Nyagashanga Dairy Cooperative, which started working out of the
Nyagashanga Commons more than a year ago.
Agricultural co-ops developed in Rwanda following the 1994 genocide as a way to bring healing and economic growth to the nation. More than half of all Rwandans now belong to a co-op, with dairy representing a fast-growing sector.
“With Kinvest we have acquired a wider market, penetrated different communities and employed people from different communities,” Joseph said. And, from the profits the co-op has made since working with Kinvest, they have been able to open two other branches—including one at the Shwima
Paul Commons. More growth is on the horizon.
